Motor City Bowler's Guild began with a group of 8 bowlers who traveled to Minneapolis MN, the weekend prior to Labor Day 1972, to get a first hand view of Central States Bowling Guild. A decision was made and the organization of Motor City Bowler's guild was declared the Goal. Meetings were held and on March 26, 1973, Motor City Bowler's Guild became a reality. Motor City Bowler's Guild which is abbreviated as MCBG, was incorporated in May 1973. In June of 1973, Motor City Bowler's Guild was accepted by Central States Bowling Guilds, sponsored by Twin Cities Bowlers Guild.
PURPOSE
The purpose of MCBG is to:
Promote communication and interaction among members
Provide members a means of socialization
Establish traveling teams to bowl out of state teams
Provide bowling instruction for youth and to promote interaction with the community
COLORS
The color's of MCBG are black and gold.
MEETINGS
General membership meetings are held the 2nd Sunday of every other month (1st Sunday in May and August), excluding June and July at 3:00 pm at a location designated by the Business manager.
FUND RAISERS
Through fund raisers MCBG is able to sponsor three (3) youth bowling programs and provide scholarships each year through the MCBG Scholarship Fund. MCBG also donates to other programs as the need presents itself to allow youths and adult in the Metro Detroit area a once in a lifetime opportunity.
